About this position

ETH Zürich is offering a fully funded PhD position in 3D Bioprinting and Tissue Engineering as part of the EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Print4Life Doctoral Network. The position is based in the Tissue Engineering and Biofabrication Laboratory led by Prof. Marcy Zenobi-Wong, with co-supervision from Dr.

Marcin Kotlarz (ETH Zürich), Prof. Paul Callaghan (Uppsala University), Dr. Maurizio Gullo (University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland), and Dhayakumar Rajan Prakash (Brinter).

The research will involve collaboration with other doctoral students and industry partners, and includes short research stays at Brinter (Finland) and Uppsala University (Sweden). Applicants must have a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field, with skills in cell culture, molecular biology, computational fluid dynamics, and bioprinting materials. The MSCA mobility rule applies, and candidates must not have resided in Switzerland for more than 12 months in the past 36 months.

What's required

Proficiency in biological evaluation of tissue constructs (e.g., RT-PCR, histology) is expected. Candidates must not have a doctoral degree at the date of recruitment and must comply with the MSCA mobility rule: not have resided or carried out their main activity in Switzerland for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to recruitment. Excellent communication skills, motivation for multidisciplinary research, and project management experience are desired.
