About this position
Helmholtz Zentrum München / Helmholtz Institute for Metabolic, Obesity and Vascular Research (HI-MAG) at Leipzig University is advertising a fully funded PhD position in Functional Studies of lncRNAs in Metabolic Tissues. The project sits in the Young Investigators Group Adipose Tissue Microarchitecture and Metabolism and focuses on the role of lncRNAs in metabolic disease.
The successful candidate will work on functional characterization of target genes in in vitro and ex vivo cell models of metabolic tissues, develop gene-silencing tools targeting lncRNAs, assess lncRNA dysregulation in large clinical cohorts, and carry out data analysis and visualization. The role is based in Leipzig, Germany, with partial home office possible.
Eligibility highlights include a Master's degree in life sciences such as biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, molecular medicine, nutritional science, or a related field.
