Stockholms universitet is advertising a PhD position in Analytical Chemistry within nano-enabled medical devices for precision healthcare. The project sits at Kemikum and combines analytical chemistry, nanomaterials, biomaterials, medical devices, and nanotechnology.

The research focuses on designing and synthesizing functional nanomaterials using flame spray pyrolysis, then integrating them into medical-device platforms through aerosol-based coating and deposition. Application areas include wound dressings, microneedle systems, biosensors, and other advanced biomaterial-based products. A major theme is understanding the relationship between structure, properties, and function, including how composition, morphology, crystallinity, surface chemistry, and nanoscale architecture affect biological responses and device performance.
