About this position

PhD opening in Cancer Biology at Inserm U1086 ANTICIPE, François Baclesse Comprehensive Cancer Center, in collaboration with Université de Caen Normandie, France.

The project is titled “Targeting UBE2N and antitumor immunity for improved ovarian cancer treatment” and sits within the BioTICLA precision medicine in ovarian cancer axis, with access to the ORGAPRED tumor organoid core facility.

Research tasks include characterizing UBE2N-targeting compounds and their effects in ovarian cancer models; studying the interplay between UBE2N-dependent processes and antitumor immune signaling; testing treatment combinations in cell lines and patient-derived tumor organoids (PDTO) using viability, proliferation, and cytotoxicity assays; and possibly extending to preclinical in vivo studies. The student will also prepare manuscripts and present at conferences.

Desired background includes knowledge of DNA repair and anticancer pharmacology and/or therapeutic combination studies, mammalian cell culture experience, and the ability to design and optimize protocols with increasing autonomy. Good scientific English is required. Experience with PDTO, functional assays, in vivo mouse models, or cancer immunology/immuno-oncology is an asset.

Eligibility: Master's degree or equivalent recognized in France/the EU in cancer biology, cell and molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, or a related field.

Duration is 36 months, with a start date in January or February 2027. Deadline: 31 October 2026.

How to apply: email both supervisors with a CV, Master's transcripts, one reference letter or referee contact details, and a brief motivation statement linking your background to the U-STING project.
