This project focuses on autonomous driving, intelligent scene generation, simulation verification, foundation models, generative AI, world models, digital twin technologies, and cross-domain scenario adaptation. The research aims to generate realistic, diverse, and critical traffic testing scenarios from real-world traffic data and to build a generalizable framework for safety validation and performance evaluation of autonomous driving systems.
Funding: This is a funded PhD studentship for three years. It covers tuition fees for three years, includes up to RMB 16,500 for international conference participation, and may offer RA/TA subsidy depending on performance. The main research location is Suzhou, China, with possible short-term research visits to the University of Liverpool.
Eligibility: Applicants should have a Master’s degree with Merit and a Bachelor’s degree with first-class or upper second-class honors. Strong spoken and written English is required; IELTS 6.5 or equivalent is expected if English is not the first language.
