About this position

Wei Wu (Associate Research Fellow, Tsinghua University) is sharing a postdoctoral opening at the Intelligent Driving Lab (iDLab), School of Vehicle and Mobility, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.

The position is for research in SLAM, state estimation, multi-sensor fusion, numerical optimization, autonomous vehicles, embodied intelligent robots, robotics, artificial intelligence, reinforcement learning, and learning for complex dynamical systems.

Led by Prof. Shengbo Li, iDLab is part of Tsinghua University’s Intelligent Vehicle Research Team. The lab is looking for candidates with a PhD in mathematics, computer science, geomatics, or a related field, plus a strong background in SLAM, state estimation, numerical optimization, computer vision, or closely related areas.

Preferred qualifications include a strong publication record, normally at least two first-author or co-first-author papers in leading IEEE or other international journals, strong mathematical foundations, good communication and teamwork skills, and strong C++ and/or Python programming ability. Experience in autonomous-driving perception, high-precision mapping, or production-level robotic SLAM is a plus.

Funding and support include competitive compensation, additional research incentives, allowances, support for the Tsinghua Shuimu Scholar Program and other funding schemes, and possible transitional housing or housing subsidy subject to policy. The post also mentions support for children’s school enrollment and Beijing household registration for eligible applicants.
