Suitable backgrounds include applied mathematics, computational mathematics, computer science, physics, or engineering. Basic programming experience in C, C++, Julia, MATLAB, Python, or similar is required, and prior knowledge of numerical linear algebra is desirable but not essential.

Funding: this is a highly competitive School of Computer Science studentship supported by an EPSRC grant. It covers full academic fees and provides a tax-free maintenance stipend at the standard UKRI rate of £21,805 per year for 3.5 years. No extra travel, research, or conference allowances are included.
