About this position

Karolinska Institutet is advertising a fully funded PhD position in the Dagliyan Lab at the Division of Molecular Neurobiology, Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics. The project focuses on molecular neurobiology, learning and memory, neuronal circuits, protein signaling, and protein engineering in the mouse brain. The lab aims to uncover experience-driven protein signaling mechanisms and develop new protein engineering technologies to study neuronal activity-dependent processes.

The doctoral student will use engineered proteins to investigate neuronal circuits in the mouse brain and is expected to contribute to experimental design, experimentation, analysis, and presentation/publication of results. The environment is interdisciplinary and collaborative, with opportunities to work with a postdoctoral fellow and collaborating laboratories.

Eligibility: applicants must hold a Master's degree in a relevant biological or biomedical science field, preferably earned within the last 2–3 years. General doctoral eligibility and English proficiency equivalent to English B/English 6 are required. Experience with electrophysiological techniques is highly desirable.
