This competition-funded PhD project focuses on precision tracking for neutrino measurements in FASER, with a strong emphasis on neutrino physics, tau neutrinos, particle physics, and detector development at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC).

Eligibility: open to UK and international students via Manchester; Chinese nationals (Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong) should apply via Tsinghua University. Applicants should have a relevant 2:1 honours degree or equivalent, or a relevant 2:1 plus a Master’s at merit; Tsinghua entry requires a master’s-level degree certificate at merit/distinction or an MPhys/MChem/MEng (2:1 and above) or equivalent.
