About this position

PhD position in 3D bioprinting at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg in Germany.

The Doryab Lab is seeking a PhD candidate to join a research programme focused on 3D bioprinting of cell-laden tissue constructs, development and optimisation of bioinks and printing parameters, and integration of bioprinted tissues with microphysiological systems. The work also includes cell culture and functional characterisation of bioprinted constructs, with strong relevance to organ-on-chip, lung-on-chip, and translational tissue engineering research.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biomedical engineering, bioengineering, biomaterials, materials science, tissue engineering, biotechnology, or a related field. Hands-on experience in 3D bioprinting is required. Experience with biofabrication, biomaterials/hydrogels, cell culture, CAD, or additive manufacturing is considered an asset. Good written and spoken English is required. Candidates should be based in Germany or available to start at short notice.

Application: send a single PDF with a short motivation letter, CV, and contact details of two referees to [email protected]. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and may be filled earlier if a suitable candidate is identified.

Deadline: 30 September 2026.
