About this position

Amsterdam UMC is recruiting for an MSCA-DN PhD position focused on the clinical utility of LAFOV PET/CT and the development of innovative image analysis methods for next-generation PET imaging.

The position is part of PREFERENCE, an international Marie Skłodowska-Curie doctoral network bringing together 12 academic institutions and industrial partners across Europe. The project combines academic and industrial research, with training visits at partner institutes and collaboration with leading international experts.

Research topics include quantitative imaging, image analysis, radiomics, artificial intelligence, and analysis of ^89Zr-immunoPET data. The successful candidate will study biodistribution and trafficking of ^89Zr-labelled cells, improve image quality, and contribute to clinical studies across multiple disease areas.

The role is based at Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc, within the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and the nuclear medicine physics research group. The team works in a multidisciplinary and international environment with PET imaging experts, data managers, PhD candidates, and academic/industrial collaborators.
