About this position
PhD position at the Czech Technical University in Prague in the FEEl Department of Telecommunication Engineering and the 6Gmobile research lab.
The project focuses on semantic communication for robots, with an emphasis on AI-enabled, robot-control-aware communication for 6G multi-robot teleoperation. The successful candidate will develop advanced algorithms for managing and optimizing semantic communication between human operators and multiple robotic systems, using emerging 6G technologies, semantic communications, artificial intelligence, and optimization methods.
The research is designed to bridge theory and practice: methods will be implemented and experimentally validated on robots in a real industrial environment. This makes the position especially attractive for candidates interested in the intersection of wireless communications, robotics, machine learning, optimization, and industrial automation.
The position is full-time and temporary. It is a PhD opening, and the application deadline is 11 October 2026 (23:59 Europe/Prague). The selected candidate is expected to join the lab in early 2027, depending on the visa process. Applications are evaluated continuously until the position is filled.
Eligibility highlights include an M.Sc. degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Robotics, or a similar field; excellent English; good programming skills; and a strong interest in wireless communications and AI-driven networking. Experience with software-defined mobile network platforms such as OAI and with O-RAN is a plus, as is international experience.
To apply, candidates should email the required documents to [email protected], including CV, cover letter, transcript of records, list of relevant research works, master thesis or project, and recommendation letter(s). Further details are available on the 6Gmobile open positions webpage.
