The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), through its Institute of Chemistry of Renewable Resources, is offering three fully-funded PhD positions in the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Cellulose High-Tech Materials. The research group focuses on the chemistry, modification, and analysis of cellulose and cellulosic materials, with an emphasis on biorefinery chemistry, recycling, and regeneration of process chemicals, as well as modern methods and reactions in the field of Green Chemistry.

Applicants should have a master's degree in chemistry, biotechnology, or a related field, with strong knowledge of organic and analytical chemistry. The ideal candidate will possess skills in independent research, scientific reporting, presentation, communication, and teamwork. The research topics for these PhD positions are application-oriented and involve fundamental research in cellulose high-tech materials, including collaboration with industrial partners on various aspects of cellulose chemistry, modification, analysis, and biorefinery chemistry.

The positions are fully funded for three years, with a 30-hour work week and a competitive gross salary of approximately 2,832 EUR per month (paid 14 times per year).
