About this position

Fully funded PhD positions are available at the Dresden International Graduate School for Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (DIGS-ILS) at TUD Dresden University of Technology in Dresden, Germany. The program offers no tuition fees, paid doctoral positions, and access to a highly interdisciplinary research environment across the BIOPOLIS Dresden campus, including university institutes, Max Planck institutes, and the university hospital.

Successful candidates join one of around 100 research groups working across biomedicine and regenerative biology, molecular, cell and developmental biology, biological physics and quantitative biology, and bioengineering and biomaterials. Applicants should hold, or expect to obtain before the start of the PhD, a Master’s degree or equivalent in biology, chemistry/biochemistry, biomedicine or medicine, physics/biophysics, bioengineering, biomaterials, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline. The selection process looks for strong academic records, prior research experience, commitment to scientific research, and the ability to undertake demanding projects. English proficiency is required, and TOEFL/IELTS and GRE results are recommended but not mandatory.

The program emphasizes expert thesis supervision, personalized mentoring, interdisciplinary training, networking, and support for international candidates, including assistance with visas, insurance, and housing. Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
