About this position
The UCLA Mobility Lab is hiring for PhD students, postdoctoral scholars, and research engineers at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the CEE or CS department.
This opportunity focuses on Physical AI, foundation models, embodied reasoning, planning, safe autonomy, autonomous driving, robotics, V2X, and connected infrastructure. The lab is looking for candidates in one or both of two directions: (1) developing intelligence for vehicles and robots, and (2) deploying that intelligence into real-world systems with hands-on integration, field deployment, and testing.
Ideal applicants should already have relevant experience and/or publications in these areas. The post specifically says to send a CV and research interests only if you meet the required level of experience or publication record.
Start dates: postdocs and research engineers can begin as soon as possible; the earliest PhD start is January 2027. Remote interns who can start earlier are also welcomed.
How to apply: email your CV and research interests to [email protected]. Because of the volume of inquiries, only qualified candidates are likely to receive a response.
