About this position
Postdoctoral position at Aarhus University, Denmark, in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics within the interdisciplinary NNF-synergy project MEVIN (Milk Extracellular Vesicles for Preterm Infants).
The project focuses on the biochemical and functional characterization of milk-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) as a novel supplement for preterm infant nutrition. The successful candidate will work on isolation, characterization, and functional analysis of milk EVs, especially bovine EVs, and study their RNA cargo, cellular uptake, and intracellular trafficking in recipient cells.
Research methods and themes include molecular biology, biochemistry, RNA biology, nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), nanoFlow cytometry, single-vesicle tracking, advanced imaging, and bioinformatic analysis of small RNAs and transcriptomic data. The work is highly interdisciplinary and includes collaboration with partners working on animal models (preterm pigs) and clinical studies.
Eligibility highlights: PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, nanoscience, biotechnology, immunology, or a closely related field; documented hands-on EV experience; practical expertise in advanced imaging or single-particle analysis; strong quantitative biomolecular analysis skills; excellent English; independent and collaborative working style.
Funding and duration: two-year postdoc appointment. Salary and terms follow Danish university collective agreements; no specific stipend amount is listed.
Location: Universitetsbyen 81 / Gustav Wieds Vej 14, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.
Deadline: 25 September 2026. Applications must be submitted via Aarhus University’s recruitment system.
