About this position
Amsterdam UMC is advertising a postdoc in the Stress in Action consortium, focused on data science and stress research. The project studies how daily stress can be measured reliably and how stress relates to the development of psychological and cardiometabolic conditions.
The postdoc will work within the Data Infrastructure Support Code (DISC) and contribute to the upcoming cohort enrichment study starting in autumn 2026. Data will be collected using smartphones, wearables, and Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), creating a rich multimodal dataset on affective, cognitive, physiological, and behavioral stress components.
Research tasks include maintaining and improving data management processes, updating SOPs, contributing to the data governance framework, supporting cohort record linkage, coordinating planning and communication, performing data analysis, and writing scientific papers. The role also includes time for independent research and development of the candidate’s own research profile.
Required background includes a PhD (or near completion) in psychology, health sciences, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, epidemiology, bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field. Applicants should have strong programming skills in R, Python, or similar tools, experience or strong interest in large multimodal datasets, publication experience, interest in student supervision, and excellent Dutch and English. Fluent Dutch is mandatory.
