About this position
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar in Digestive Diseases for the Church Lab / Goodman-Luskin Microbiome Center and the Center for Neurobiology of Stress and Resilience. This is a research-intensive postdoctoral opening focused on the brain-gut microbiome axis, with projects studying stress-based disorders such as obesity and cognitive decline.
The position is embedded in multidisciplinary clinical, translational, and basic research teams in the Division of Digestive Diseases, Department of Medicine at UCLA. The scholar will work directly with Dr. Arpana Church and faculty collaborators on R01-funded projects using multimodal MRI, gut microbiome measures, inflammation and metabolic markers, behavioral and diet data, heart rate variability, digital phenotyping, cognitive measures, and clinical datasets. The role offers opportunities to develop translational and clinical research skills, contribute to target discovery and biomarker/predictor development, and lead high-impact publications from the start.
