About this position
Postdoc opportunity at the University of Groningen in the area of psychiatric assistance dogs, psychological sciences, sociology, and mental health research.
This postdoctoral project investigates the effects of psychiatric assistance dogs on the well-being and societal participation of adolescents and young adults (16–30) with severe psychosocial difficulties. The study uses a multiple-baseline design with Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) and is carried out in close collaboration with experts by experience and psychiatric assistance dog organizations.
The successful candidate will coordinate and conduct the study, including participant recruitment and support, data collection and analysis, reporting findings, and publishing results in international peer-reviewed journals. The role is based at the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, within the Department of Pedagogical and Educational Sciences, and is linked to the Special Education and Youth Care: Learning & Development unit and the Behaviour, Parenting and Children's Rights unit.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in the social sciences or a related discipline; a strong publication record; interest in interdisciplinary research; excellent Dutch and English communication skills; ability to work independently and lead collaborative research activities; and strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Funding and conditions: fixed-term appointment for 0.8 FTE over 20 months. Salary indication: €3706–€4925 per month, plus 8.3% end-of-year bonus and 8% holiday allowance. The position also includes 232 vacation hours per year (based on a 38-hour workweek) and professional development opportunities.
