About this position
Cluster of Excellence ImmunoSensation at the University of Bonn is advertising a Postdoc in Immunology in the group of Dr. Nicola Diny at the Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Pharmacology, University Hospital Bonn.
The project is titled “Eosinophil metabolic rewiring in the context of tissue adaptation”. The research focuses on immunology, eosinophil biology, myeloid cell biology, metabolism, molecular medicine, and bioinformatics. The lab studies how eosinophils and macrophages contribute to tissue homeostasis, disease, and regeneration, and how environmental sensing, transcriptional control, and metabolic pathways shape immune-cell behavior in different tissue environments.
Methodologically, the project mentions genetic tools, in vivo models, in vitro cell culture, flow cytometry, imaging, CRISPR gene silencing, single-cell sequencing, and bioinformatic analysis. The position is embedded in a major immunology research hub in Bonn with access to state-of-the-art facilities.
Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD in Immunology, Metabolism, Molecular Medicine, Biology, or a related field, and have a strong practical research background. Experience with animal models, immunology or metabolism research, and bioinformatics data analysis is preferred. Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
Funding: the postdoc is offered at TV-L E13, 100% for 2 years, with additional benefits including VBL pension coverage and a subsidized public transport ticket (Jobticket).
Deadline: applications are accepted until 31 May 2026, with rolling interviews and encouragement to apply as soon as possible.
How to apply: email a single PDF containing a motivation letter, research experience description, CV, and two reference contacts to [email protected]. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by video conference or in person.
