About this position

CEA is advertising a postdoctoral position in modelling, CFD, and experimental development of an innovative absorption injector in France, based at CEA LITEN – INES Site, Le Bourget-du-Lac. The project covers the full research cycle from physical modelling to prototype development and experimental validation.

The postdoc will work on simplified 0D thermodynamic and hydrodynamic models, advanced multiphase and multi-species CFD simulations, injector prototype design and manufacturing, and operation of an experimental test bench for thermo-hydraulic characterisation. The role also includes analysing results, validating numerical models against experiments, publishing in international journals, and contributing to patent applications.

Experience with absorption systems, ammonia-water mixtures, injectors/ejectors, or phase-change phenomena is beneficial. A PhD is required, along with strong English and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary research environment.

This is a research-intensive postdoc focused on sustainable cooling and energy transition technologies, with access to advanced numerical and experimental facilities and opportunities for publications and patents.

Experience with absorption systems, ammonia-water mixtures, injectors/ejectors, or phase-change phenomena is an advantage but not mandatory. Good written and spoken English is essential, and the researcher should be creative, proactive, able to work independently, and comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment.
