About this position

TU Delft is advertising an ERC-funded postdoctoral position in the Department of Quantum Nanoscience at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The approach combines periodic quantum embedding, equation-of-motion coupled-cluster methods in periodic DFT (pbcEOM-CC), coarse-grained strong-correlation treatment, and state-interaction methods for spin-spin, spin-orbit, and Zeeman interactions.

This opportunity is especially relevant for candidates interested in physics, chemistry, and materials science, particularly those working in solid-state physics, quantum many-body physics, quantum information science, and computational modeling of magnetic adsorbates. The post is for two years and is described as a temporary full-time appointment (38–40 hours/week).

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related discipline. A strong background in open quantum system dynamics, solid-state physics, quantum many-body physics, and quantum information science is required. Scientific programming experience is highly desirable. Funding and conditions: salary and benefits follow the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, with a monthly salary range of €3546–€5538. Additional benefits include an ABP pension scheme, flexible working arrangements, leave hours, training opportunities, and partially paid parental leave.
