About this position
Postdoc in Rhetoric at Lund University, Faculty of Humanities and Theology, Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL), Sweden.
The position is a three-year full-time postdoctoral fellowship focused on rhetoric with a special emphasis on teaching-materials studies from a cross-cultural perspective. The successful candidate will join the research environment in rhetoric at SOL, contribute to seminars and scholarly networks, and develop an independent research project on rhetoric in modern teaching materials.
Relevant research interests include rhetorical theory and practice, textbook studies, educational rhetoric, argumentation, in situ rhetoric, democratic education, language studies, media and communication studies, didactics, pedagogy, and qualitative/exploratory methods such as rhetorical criticism and action research. The post also encourages projects using mixed methods or classical rhetorical concepts.
Eligibility: a doctoral degree or equivalent in rhetoric or a related discipline with knowledge of rhetoric in theory and practice; strong research ability; teaching skills; good English; and sufficient knowledge of languages relevant to the project. Preference is given to candidates who completed the PhD within the last three years and who have experience in relevant research, research projects, and interdisciplinary/international collaboration.
Funding and terms: monthly salary, full-time temporary employment, with teaching/supervision duties up to 20% of working time. The post is a career-development position and includes pedagogical training and mentorship.
