About this position

Postdoctoral position in structural biology, biochemistry, protein engineering, and biocatalysis at the University at Buffalo (Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences), in the Gulick Lab within the Department of Structural Biology.

The project focuses on proteins involved in the biosynthesis of bacterial natural products. The work includes protein production and purification, biochemical assay development, informatic and genome mining to characterize bacterial biosynthetic pathways, protein structure determination by X-ray crystallography and/or cryo-EM with single-particle analysis, and data analysis/publication.

This is an NIH-funded postdoc opening in Buffalo, New York, USA. The ideal candidate has a PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field, with a background in protein biochemistry, enzymology, biophysical analysis, or structural biology. Preferred experience includes natural product biosynthesis, LC-MS/HPLC assays, crystallography, cryo-EM, and computational structure-determination tools.

To apply, send a single PDF containing a cover letter (research experience, goals, and fit with the lab), CV, and 3 references to Prof. Andrew Gulick at [email protected]. The post says there is no fixed deadline yet and that a formal UB Jobs posting will follow.

Funding details
