About this position

Postdoctoral researcher opportunity in System Dynamics Modelling and Adolescent Health at the University of Copenhagen, within the Copenhagen Health Complexity Center and the Department of Public Health.

The project focuses on building a decision-support / scenario exploration tool for policymakers to visualize and simulate the systemic effects of social investments and programmes. The work is anchored in the Center’s Child Health group and its partnership with a Danish municipality through the Thriving Communities Lab, linking research with real-world health promotion efforts.

Research themes include complex-systems science, public health, epidemiology, data science, computational science, social science, economics, and the use of multi-layered life-course data from DANLIFE together with local municipal data. The postdoc will collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers, municipal partners, and practitioners, contribute to publications, dissemination, teaching, and Center activities.

Eligibility highlights: a PhD in a relevant field is required; experience with system dynamics modelling is required; agent-based modelling, social return on investment analysis, and Danish register data experience are advantageous. Strong English skills are required; Danish is helpful but not essential.

This is a three-year fixed-term postdoc. Salary starts at 35,000 DKK/month (approx. 4,700 EUR, October 2021 level), plus pension contributions and possible supplements depending on qualifications. The position starts on 1 February 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Application deadline: 31 October 2026, 23:59 CET. Apply online only via the official application portal.
