About this position
Tokyo University of Science is recruiting researcher/postdoc-equivalent staff for the Ogami Laboratory in the Department of Information Engineering, School of Computing at the Yokohama Campus in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
The position focuses on AI for Science and molecular simulation for research on antibodies, T-cell receptors, small molecules, peptides, and catalysts. The lab uses methods such as AlphaFold, Boltz-2, RFdiffusion, BindCraft, language models like AbLang, ESM, and Chemformer, plus Bayesian optimization, reinforcement learning, molecular dynamics, extended sampling, and binding free energy calculations.
Applicants should have a doctorate or be expected to obtain one before the start date. Master’s degree holders may also be considered if they have substantial relevant experience. The university is looking for candidates with research experience in protein structure prediction/design, machine learning for small molecules or catalysts, biomolecular simulation, antigen-antibody bioinformatics, or broader AI/AI for Science work. Experience with drug discovery software, ML libraries, and computing environments is desirable.
This is a full-time fixed-term appointment with an annual salary of 5–7 million yen. The contract runs until March 31, 2029, with possible renewal. The start date is November 1, 2026 and is negotiable. Up to 3 positions are available.
Applications must be submitted as a single PDF through the JREC-IN Portal Web Application. Required documents include a CV, publication/achievement list, a summary of past research achievements, and contact details for at least one referee. The application window is October 5, 2026 to November 15, 2026, and selection is ongoing until a suitable candidate is found. Interviews may be conducted on campus or via Zoom.
