About this position

Upcoming postdoctoral and predoctoral opportunities are being prepared by the Colombi and Leonzino labs in a collaborative project based at IGM-CNR in Pavia and IN-CNR at Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano, Italy.

The research focuses on organelle communication, especially membrane contact sites between organelles, and how these processes control organelle dynamics and function. The project also investigates how disruption of these mechanisms contributes to neurodegenerative disease, including ALS.

The labs use gene editing to generate cellular models and research tools, together with cell and molecular biology, imaging, biochemistry, and proteomics. Candidates with experience in relevant research areas or techniques are encouraged to express interest.

The positions will be supported by an ALS research project funded by Tambourine and the Milken Institute. All positions are expected to run initially for 12 months, and predoctoral researchers may later have the opportunity to pursue a PhD.

The formal calls will be published soon. Interested researchers can contact Paolo Colombi or Marianna Leonzino for questions or to register interest.
