About this position
Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate in Biochemistry & Biophysics in the Lange Lab. The project focuses on how ubiquitin signaling is interpreted to regulate intracellular transport and how disruption of these pathways contributes to neurodegeneration and other diseases.
The lab is multidisciplinary and uses biochemical, structural biology, biophysical, and proteomics approaches. Relevant research areas include protein expression and purification, biochemical characterization of protein interactions, cell culture, quantitative immunofluorescence, single-molecule microscopy, structural and computational biology, and proteomics.
Applicants should have a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics, cell biology, molecular biology, or a related field by the start date. The lab especially welcomes candidates with experience in single-molecule TIRF microscopy, cryo-EM, protein biochemistry, proteomics, or advanced cell culture techniques such as CRISPR-based genome editing. Training in complementary techniques will be available, so candidates do not need experience in every area.
The position is based at Weill Cornell Medicine at 1300 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065. The appointment is initially for one year, with possible annual reappointment depending on performance and funding availability. Salary starts at $75,812 per year plus potential adjustment under the postdoc collective bargaining agreement.
To apply, email Dr. Sven Lange at [email protected] with a CV, a short summary of PhD research, a cover letter describing your interest and relevant experience, and two references. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
