About this position

University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Post Doctoral Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Health & Disease within the Department of Internal Medicine.

The project is centered on biomedical ultrasound, acoustic imaging, and the development of targeted echogenic agents with therapeutic loading for catheter-triggered delivery in arteries to improve blood flow. The fellow will work with Dr. Christy Holland and Dr. Kevin Haworth and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and clinicians across the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston, and Boston Scientific Corporation.

Research activities include passive and active ultrasound imaging, monitoring theragnostic agents, optimizing therapeutic delivery, in vitro and in vivo animal studies, and ultrasound-mediated pioglitazone delivery. The role also includes preparing manuscripts, reports, presentations, and grant proposals, as well as mentoring students and supporting laboratory operations.

Required preparation includes a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or a related discipline, plus experience in experimental biomedical ultrasound or acoustic imaging. Matlab or similar specialized software experience may be helpful.
