About this position
Harvard Medical School is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Harvard–MIT Center for Regulatory Science in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Center, directed by Dr. Florence Bourgeois, studies the regulation of medical products by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the evidence used to support regulatory decisions. Research in the Clinical Evidence Evaluation and Communication Unit includes empirical and policy-relevant work on the strength of clinical evidence behind drug and biologic approvals, FDA-required postmarket studies, and how benefits, harms, and uncertainty are communicated to clinicians, patients, and payers.
This opportunity is especially suitable for recent PhD graduates or current postdoctoral fellows with interests in regulatory science, pharmaceutical policy, health policy, biostatistics, data science, epidemiology, or related fields. The team is particularly interested in candidates with strong quantitative, programming, and writing skills who can bring new methods, technologies, or perspectives to the Center’s research program.
The successful candidate will develop an independent research project with Dr. Bourgeois and collaborators, contribute to grant and manuscript writing, support mentoring and unit operations, and work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment. The position is salaried and benefits eligible, with salary determined by years post-PhD. It is a one-year term appointment with possible extension depending on performance, business need, and funding.
How to apply: Prepare a CV, statement of research, cover letter describing your interest and initial research ideas, and contact information for three references. Submit the materials through the ARIeS portal. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the stated deadline is September 15, 2026.
