About this position

Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity: la Caixa Junior Leader Incoming 2027 at the Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine "López-Neyra" (IPBLN-CSIC) in Granada, Spain.

The Gene Therapy and Infectious Diseases Group is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to develop an independent and ambitious project in a highly collaborative, international biomedical research environment.

Research areas: gene therapy, gene editing, infectious diseases, HIV, HPV, hepatitis viruses, CRISPR technologies, antiviral therapies, RNA therapeutics, immunology, virology, nanoparticle-based delivery systems, and bioinformatics.

What the host offers: state-of-the-art molecular biology and cell culture facilities, BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories, genomics/proteomics/bioinformatics platforms, animal facilities, advanced imaging, and strong hospital/clinical collaborations.

Funding: maximum duration 3 years; maximum total funding €320,100 through the la Caixa Foundation Junior Leader Incoming 2027 scheme.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Virology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Gene Therapy, Bioinformatics, or a related field; have an excellent publication record; show scientific independence and leadership potential; and satisfy the programme mobility rule (PhD obtained 2–7 years before the deadline and limited prior residence/activity in Spain).
