About this position
The INSERM Center of Cardiovascular and Nutrition research in Marseille, France, is offering a postdoctoral position focused on cardiac developmental biology. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team at the School of Pharmacy, working on projects that investigate dysregulated biological pathways in mouse models of genetic disease affecting the heart and muscles during embryonic and neonatal stages.
The research will utilize advanced technologies including spatial transcriptomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, HREM, light-sheet and confocal microscopy, and histology. The candidate will also have the opportunity to test innovative therapeutic approaches aimed at rescuing disease phenotypes in mice. The lab is fully equipped with state-of-the-art imaging facilities and maintains a large animal housing facility, providing an excellent environment for cutting-edge research.
Applicants should hold a PhD or be near completion in biology, ideally with a specialization in developmental biology. Essential qualifications include a strong track record of independent research, excellent laboratory skills, and hands-on experience with mice, including animal handling, experimental procedures, and colony management. Familiarity with the listed technologies is highly desirable.
The position is funded for three years, with a monthly salary of 2600 euros. The start date is 1 June 2026, with flexibility to begin by 1 September 2026. The hosting team has a strong publication record in top journals and offers a collaborative and supportive research environment.
