About this position

The Neural Regulation of Immunity Laboratory at the Centre d’Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy (CIML), France, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neuro-Immunology. This position is funded by the prestigious Impulscience Grant from the Bettencourt-Schueller Foundation and offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative research team in Marseille.

The successful candidate will lead a cutting-edge research project investigating how sensory neurons regulate immune cell function during inflammation. The project utilizes both mouse models and human cellular systems to uncover fundamental neuro-immune mechanisms, with the potential to open new therapeutic avenues for inflammatory diseases. The research environment at CIML is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise in immunology and neuroscience.

Applicants should hold a PhD in immunology, neuroscience, or a related field, and demonstrate strong expertise in immune biology, particularly in the context of inflammatory diseases using mouse models. Experience with animal experimentation, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, transcriptomics, and primary cell culture is highly desirable. Experience with human primary cell culture is considered an advantage. Candidates should possess excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, a strong publication record, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Good command of English is required, and 1-4 years of relevant research experience is expected.

The position is full-time and temporary, with funding provided by the Impulscience Grant. The anticipated start date is April 1, 2026. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a cover letter describing research interests and experience, and contact information for three references. Please submit your application by email to [email protected], referencing the position title in your subject line. For further details about the laboratory and research focus, visit the lab website or view the official posting on Euraxess.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious researcher to develop scientific independence and contribute to a high-impact project in the rapidly growing field of neuro-immunology.
