About this position
Postdoctoral Position in Computational Materials Science at Linköping University, Sweden.
This postdoctoral opening is in the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE), within the Materials Science group and the Theory & Modelling unit. The project focuses on computational materials science, density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics, and machine learning potentials to study self-assembly of molecules on surfaces, materials interfaces, and charge transport in hybrid organic-inorganic materials for sustainable energy devices.
Research topics include predicting self-assembled monolayer (SAM) formation on solar cell absorber and battery electrode surfaces, understanding electronic structure under realistic operating conditions, and designing stable interfaces for photovoltaics and battery technologies. The postdoc will collaborate with experimental and theoretical groups within LOE and its partners.
Eligibility: applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent by the employment decision date. A PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or another relevant field is required. Experience with DFT, molecular dynamics, machine learning for materials modelling, computational materials science, or organic/hybrid materials for energy applications is advantageous. Strong collaboration, analytical ability, interdisciplinary interest, and good English proficiency are required.
Funding and terms: this is a full-time, fixed-term postdoctoral employment for two years, with possible extension up to three years. The starting salary is 43,700 SEK/month. Benefits include paid vacation, health-care coverage, parental leave, and pension accrual. The position is connected to the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE) and includes participation in the WISE Research School.
