About this position
Postdoctoral position at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland, within NCN OPUS 30 Project No. 2025/59/B/ST5/01207: “Covalent organic frameworks exhibiting thermally activated delayed fluorescence”, led by Dr inż. Jakub Ostapko.
The project aims to develop and study a new class of self-assembled microcrystalline emitters based on covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). The work focuses on through-space charge transfer (TSCT), donor–acceptor design, organic synthesis, porous materials, photophysics, spectroscopy, and computational materials modelling. The successful candidate will synthesize molecular building blocks, construct COFs with predetermined architectures, and investigate their structure–property relationships using PXRD, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, solid-state NMR, absorption/emission measurements, quantum-yield analysis, and crystallographic/computational tools.
This is a full-time postdoc position with a gross salary of about 9650 PLN/month. The appointment is initially for 12 months and may be extended up to 48 months total. The role also includes preparation of COF thin films, assembly and characterization of COF-based OLED devices, data interpretation, publication writing, and supervision of a PhD student.
Eligibility highlights: PhD or equivalent; strong background in synthetic organic chemistry; experience with COFs or other self-assembled organic materials; familiarity with PXRD, Raman/IR, photoluminescence; fluent English; and compliance with NCN postdoc rules regarding PhD institution, employment status, and remuneration restrictions.
Deadline: 16 October 2026, 12:00 noon (Europe/Warsaw). How to apply: email the required documents to [email protected] with subject “Recruitment no 63/2026”.
