About this position

University of Cádiz is advertising a postdoctoral research position in neuroscience, biology, and bioinformatics for the project “Unravelling the role of striatal interneurons in Huntington’s disease and the impact of partial reprogramming”.

The work is based at the University of Cádiz in Cádiz, Spain, within the Department of Neurociencia. The role involves designing and running single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics experiments on post-mortem human brain tissue and animal models, processing samples, analysing data in R and/or Python, performing mouse-model procedures such as stereotaxy and behavioural studies, validating results with molecular and cellular biology techniques, and contributing to manuscripts, conferences, and project coordination.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Health Sciences, Neuroscience, Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Prior postdoctoral experience in single-cell/spatial omics, murine neurodegeneration models, or nervous-tissue molecular/cellular biology is expected. English at B2 level or above is required, and Spanish is required as well.

Funding: the post is a temporary full-time contract (37.5 hours/week). The announcement does not specify a stipend or salary amount and notes that the contract is subject to a final project decision.

Deadline: 2026-10-26 at 23:59 (Europe/Madrid).

How to apply: submit the required documents via the University of Cádiz application portal. Required materials include ID/passport, degree/doctorate certificate, transcript certificate, CV, supporting evidence for CV merits, and the signed application form (Anexo 15 / Ref 10/2026/15). Contact: [email protected].
