Research focus: empirical study of how Swedish public authorities engage with citizens in the governance of welfare automation; analysis of participation initiatives addressing vulnerability and exclusion; examination of legal and governance frameworks for AI and automated decision-making in welfare provision; dissemination through academic publications and broader outreach.

Eligibility highlights: completed or near-completed PhD in sociology of law, law, STS, political science, public administration, sociology, or a related field; strong empirical research skills (interviews, ethnography, surveys, case studies); demonstrated interest in vulnerability, welfare state governance, digitalisation, and citizen rights; excellent Swedish (C1/C2) and English; ability to work independently and in an international collaborative environment.

Funding and conditions: full-time temporary postdoctoral employment with salary according to university regulations. The post includes funding for fieldwork in Sweden and participation in international conferences, plus mentorship, publication support, and career development opportunities.
