About this position

University of Oxford is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position in spatial transcriptomics, spatial analysis, bioinformatics, and cancer biology, focused on understanding therapy response in colorectal cancer. The successful candidate will develop and apply advanced computational and bioinformatics methods to large-scale spatial transcriptomics and imaging datasets, including tools such as MuSpAn. Responsibilities include building reproducible pipelines, identifying spatial biomarkers, interpreting complex biological data, collaborating across an international consortium, and contributing to publications, grants, and conference presentations.

Eligibility: applicants should hold, or be close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in computational biology, mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics, oncology, or a related quantitative field. Strong Python/programming skills and experience with high-dimensional data analysis are important; experience with spatial transcriptomics, multiplex imaging, cancer datasets, or novel quantitative methods is advantageous.

What's required

Hold, or be close to completing, a PhD/DPhil in computational biology, mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics, oncology, or another related quantitative discipline. Experience analysing complex, high-dimensional datasets and applying quantitative or computational methods is required, along with strong programming skills in Python or a willingness to rapidly develop them. Experience with spatial transcriptomics, multiplex imaging, cancer datasets, or novel quantitative methodologies would be advantageous.
