About this position

Texas A&M University’s Department of Chemistry in College Station, Texas is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the newly established Huang Research Group.

The project focuses on how post-translational modifications regulate proteins involved in cell–cell adhesion. The research combines top-down proteomics, mass spectrometry, molecular engineering, biochemistry, and cell biology to connect protein modification states with molecular interactions and cellular function. The role includes hands-on work with a Thermo Scientific Vanquish Neo LC system and a Tribrid Orbitrap mass spectrometer, plus protein expression, purification, mammalian and bacterial cell culture, and data analysis.

Applicants must have an appropriate PhD in a related field. Strong candidates will have a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, cell biology, or a related discipline, along with first-author publication experience and practical expertise in proteomics/metabolomics, Orbitrap FTMS, intact protein/proteoform analysis, post-translational modifications, cloning, lentiviral transduction, stable cell line generation, biochemical/cell-based assays, and analysis tools such as Xcalibur, Proteome Discoverer, ProSight, UniDec, TopPIC, or FragPipe. R and/or Python skills and mentoring experience are also valued.

This is a full-time postdoctoral position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The posting notes that salary may be supported by grants or contracts, so continued employment depends on future funding availability.
