About this position

University College Dublin is advertising a temporary 1-year Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level 1 or 2) within the UCD School of Medicine / Systems Biology Ireland.

The project supports work on early onset colorectal cancer and contributes to the Precision Oncology Ireland 2 (POI-2) programme, coordinated by Systems Biology Ireland at UCD. The successful researcher will work with the research groups of Dr Oleksii Rukhlenko and Prof. David Gomez Matallanas.

Research interests and skills include bioinformatics, omics data analysis, multi-omics integration, network biology, cancer biology, and systems biology. The role is especially suited to candidates with strong hands-on experience in analysing omics datasets and an interest in precision oncology and computational cancer research.

Funding is via a salaried postdoctoral appointment rather than a scholarship. PD1 salary is €47,273–€53,925 per annum depending on qualifications and experience; PD2 salary is €55,399 per annum.

Eligibility notes: PD1 is intended for early-stage researchers, typically just after PhD completion or entering a new area. PD2 is intended for researchers who have already completed PD1. Applicants whose total postdoctoral experience would exceed the stated limits should not apply.

Deadline: 27 October 2026 at 12:00 noon local Irish time. Applications must be submitted through the vacancy page before the deadline.
