About this position
Three postdoctoral research fellow positions are open at the Institute of Biotechnology, HiLIFE, University of Helsinki in Finland. The positions sit in the Varjosalo group and the newly established Järvinen group, with direct access to the Helsinki Proteomics Center and state-of-the-art mass spectrometry infrastructure across the Viikki and Meilahti campuses.

Applicants may apply to one or more of three projects: (1) neurodevelopmental proteomics using 2D/3D cell models, organoids/assembloids, and patient-derived material; (2) clinical proteomics of AML using patient specimens and clinical collaboration; and (3) chemoproteomics of drug toxicity and efficacy in primary human cells, including activity-based profiling, global- and phosphoproteomics, and phenotype deconvolution.
Eligibility is for candidates with a doctoral degree in a relevant field completed or near completion. The post also expects a publication record appropriate to career stage, independence, willingness to support group activities, and participation in research fundraising. Strong English is required; Finnish is not required. Project-specific backgrounds include stem cell biology, neurobiology, developmental biology, clinical sample handling, chemical biology, bioscience, medicinal chemistry, proteomics, and other data-rich biological fields.
The appointment is for 2-3 years with a 6-month trial period. Salary is approximately EUR 3900-4376 per month gross under the Finnish university salary system, requirement level 5, plus a personal performance component.
