About this position
Postdoctoral Research Scientist at St Vincent's Institute of Medical Research (SVI), Melbourne, Australia, in the Human T-Cell Laboratory within the Immunology of Diabetes Unit.
This is a research-focused postdoctoral opening for candidates interested in immunology, biochemistry, autoimmune disease, and type 1 diabetes. Eligibility highlights: an AQF PhD in a relevant life science discipline (preferably Immunology or Biochemistry), independent experimental research ability, publication record, strong English communication, and good planning/organisation. Experience with human immunology, autoimmune disease research, beta-cell antigen-specific T cells, cytokine receptor expression, biochemical analysis, and single-cell gene sequencing data is preferred. What's required

Demonstrated ability to independently design, conduct and manage experimental research, with a track record of publications based on original experimental work. Strong verbal and written English communication, planning and organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks. Knowledge of human immunology, especially T and B cell responses, and experience or knowledge relevant to autoimmune disease research, particularly type 1 diabetes, are required. Preferred experience includes isolation and analysis of human beta-cell antigen-specific T cells, expressing cytokine receptors and analysing biochemical properties, and analysing single-cell gene sequencing data. Must have permanent working rights in Australia and be available full-time for the duration of the appointment; criminal history check required.
