About this position

Postdoctoral Researcher position at the University of Luxembourg, within the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) and the SigCom research group headed by Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas. The project sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, wireless communications, telecommunication systems, 6G networks, edge computing, and optimization.

The successful candidate will work on AI-driven methods for real-time analytics and decision-making in IoT, wireless communication, and remote sensing systems, and will help integrate advanced AI models into telecommunication architectures. Research topics include foundation models / large language models, generative AI, federated and decentralized learning, neurosymbolic and hybrid AI, self-supervised and few-shot learning, semantic communication, signal processing, graph theory, and convex/non-convex optimization.

The role is experimentally driven and connected to lab environments such as TelecomAI Lab, COMMLab, 6GSPACE Lab, HybridNetLab, QCILab, and related simulation/facility resources. The post is suitable for candidates with strong publication records and hands-on implementation experience in deep reinforcement learning, DNNs/CNNs, split learning, swarm learning, peer-to-peer FL, and AI deployment on embedded/edge platforms such as Jetson, Raspberry Pi, FPGA, and neuromorphic chips.

Eligibility: PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline; proven research excellence; expertise in one or more of time-series analytics, IoT and wireless communication, goal-oriented semantic communication, edge intelligence, and resource optimization.

Funding: fixed-term full-time contract for 24 months; yearly gross salary EUR 85,176.

Location: Kirchberg Campus, Luxembourg.

How to apply: submit the application online via the HR system. Include CV, academic background, PhD thesis title and summary, publication list, cover letter, motivation, research interests, relevant experience, and preferred topics/projects. Email applications are not accepted.
