About this position
Université du Luxembourg is advertising a Postdoctoral Researcher in Advanced Communication Systems at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), within the SIGCOM research group. The position is based at Kirchberg Campus, Luxembourg, and is a fixed-term full-time postdoctoral contract for 24 months.
The research themes span four strategic areas: radio frequency transceiver design, optical communications, quantum communications, and system-level design and optimization. Topics include reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, flexible antennas, power amplifiers, 6G waveform design, secure communications, photonics, free-space optics, Li-Fi, underwater optical communications, quantum error correction, quantum key distribution, hybrid quantum-classical neural networks, agentic AI, edge AI, integrated sensing and communications, satellite swarms, and non-terrestrial networks.
Applicants should hold a PhD in wireless communications, signal processing, machine/deep learning, or a closely related field in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The post seeks candidates with strong publication records and/or project or industry experience, plus knowledge of 5G/6G, wireless IoT, UAVs, optimization, network slicing, multi-antenna signal processing, graph signal processing, machine learning, quantum machine learning, and related tools such as MATLAB, Python, Julia, C++, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. English fluency is required.
The role offers a yearly gross salary of EUR 85,176. Applicants should submit a CV, cover letter, PhD diploma or expected defense information, transcript, and publication list. Applications must be submitted online through the HR system; email applications are not accepted. Early application is encouraged because applications are processed upon reception.
