About this position

Postdoctoral Researcher in Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), Bellaterra (Barcelona), Spain.

The project explores sensing and optoelectronic functionalities of on-surface synthesized nanoporous graphene (NPG) and NPG-based heterostructures integrated into field-effect transistor (FET) devices. The work includes transfer of NPG to gate dielectrics, fabrication of NPG-based FETs, building heterostructures with other 2D semiconductors to study proximity effects, micro-Raman/PL and transport measurements, and management of the device subunit. The role also includes supervision of early-stage researchers.

Applicants should have a PhD-level background in physics, chemistry, nanoscience, or engineering, with postdoctoral experimental experience in nanoscience, 2D materials transfer, and nanodevice fabrication. Experience supervising students, strong experimental physics and nanoengineering skills, data analysis ability, and proficiency in English are required. Background in 2D materials, device fabrication, nanoscale materials science, and condensed matter physics is desirable.

The position is full time (37.5 h/week) for 2 years. Salary depends on qualifications and experience. Relocation support and life insurance are offered. The contract is linked to project PID2025-172752OB-C21: ANAGRAPH, funded by MICIU/AEI and FSE+.

Applications are reviewed continuously. Apply via the ICN2 website with a cover letter, full CV including contact details, and reference letters or referee contacts.
