About this position
Postdoctoral Researcher in Experimental Psychology and Psychophysiology at Tilburg University (Department of Computational Cognitive Science, School of Humanities and Digital Sciences).
This 1.0 FTE postdoctoral position is part of the VR-STRESS project, a cross-border research and innovation initiative developing an adaptive virtual reality system for medical training. The project studies how physiological, behavioral, and interaction data can be used to infer user state in real time, including stress, cognitive load, attention, fatigue, emotion, and performance.
The successful candidate will lead the experimental and psychophysiological component of the project, designing controlled studies in immersive VR environments, calibrating and validating non-invasive sensing technologies, and analyzing multimodal datasets with advanced statistical and quantitative methods. The role involves close collaboration with researchers, engineers, VR specialists, data scientists, and project partners from academia and industry.
Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a PhD in experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive (neuro)science, psychophysiology, or a related field. Experience with behavioral or psychophysiological experiments, physiological or neurophysiological measurements, and strong quantitative skills is expected. Experience with R, Python, or similar tools is an advantage. Excellent English is required; Dutch is welcome but not required.
