About this position
The Department of Psychology at the University of Copenhagen is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in Cognitive Computational Neuroscience and Human Movement Perception. The postdoc will join the project “Mapping Experience of Action: Redefining Theories of Consciousness”, funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark and led by Professor Thor Grünbaum and Associate Professor Mark Schram Christensen.
This interdisciplinary project investigates conscious experiences of movement and how bodily and neural signals contribute to movement awareness. The work combines psychophysical experiments, computational modelling, and philosophical analysis to advance understanding of consciousness and evaluate leading neuroscientific theories of conscious experience.
The position is based in the Cognition, Intention and Action research group within the Section for Cognition and Brain Sciences, Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with the project team and be present in the lab on a daily basis.
Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent research qualifications in a relevant area such as cognitive neuroscience, computational neuroscience, cognitive modelling, biomedical engineering, or sports science with a behavioural neuroscience focus. Strong skills in data handling, data analysis, experimental design, and cognitive/computational modelling are essential, and relevant publications are expected.
The appointment is fixed-term for 30 months. Salary starts at DKK 39,000 per month plus 18.07% pension, with possible annual salary supplements. Teaching duties may be required to a limited extent.
To apply, candidates must submit an English-language application online with a CV, cover letter, qualification documents, publication list, up to three publications, a short project description, and a research plan. A key requirement is to request the original project proposal from Mark Schram Christensen before submitting the application.
