About this position
Postdoctoral Researcher opportunity in the Reproduction and Development in Fish Team at the InLife Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research, Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn, Poland.
This position is part of the NCN OPUS 26 project sAnDeRNA, focused on fish reproduction, developmental biology, molecular biology, RNA, small non-coding RNAs, transcriptomics, and bioinformatics. The project studies blood-circulating small non-coding RNAs in pikeperch as non-lethal biomarkers of reproductive status and gamete quality, including analyses across reproductive cycles in females and males.
The successful candidate will work on controlled reproduction of pikeperch, broodstock preparation, gamete collection, in vitro fertilisation, larval rearing, RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, transcriptomic data analysis, statistical analysis, and integration of molecular and zootechnical data. The role also includes preparing publications and conference presentations.
Applicants should hold a PhD in biological sciences or a related discipline, with strong experience in RNA-based molecular work, gene expression analysis, and independent data interpretation. A publication record in Web of Science journals is required, and excellent English is expected. Experience with fish, transcriptomics, and R is an advantage.
The contract is full-time for 20 months, with a possible extension to 24 months. Salary follows NCN guidelines at approximately PLN 9,500–9,700 gross per month. Applications are due by 12 October 2026 and should be emailed to [email protected] with the requested subject line.
