About this position

Linköping University in Sweden is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Heart Failure Care Research (LiLAC-HF). The project focuses on a multicentre randomized controlled trial evaluating a nurse-led, lung fluid-guided heart failure management programme delivered in primary care. The study uses Remote Dielectric Sensing (ReDS) to assess lung fluid levels and support early detection of worsening heart failure.

The postdoctoral researcher will coordinate the LiLAC-HF trial across participating primary care centres in Sweden, manage study activities, collect data, conduct interviews, and contribute to both quantitative and qualitative analyses. The role also includes leading and co-authoring scientific publications and helping disseminate research findings. Up to 20% teaching may be included.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent by the employment decision date. A recent PhD is preferred. The strongest fit is a candidate with a background in health sciences, nursing, medicine, or a related field, plus experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Interest or experience in cardiovascular care, chronic disease management, care of older adults, and community-based healthcare is advantageous. Strong Swedish and English communication skills are required, and the role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and travel within Sweden.

The position is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for three years. It is funded by the Högbom-Cocozza Research Foundation. The foundation also supports a possible 6–12 month research stay abroad and offers an opportunity to apply for an independent research grant of about SEK 500,000 before the third year.

Workplace details indicate the office will be in Norrköping at Campus Norrköping, within Linköping University’s research environment in cardiovascular nursing, heart failure management, self-care, and digital health. Application deadline: 30 November 2026.
