About this position
Postdoctoral opportunity in land and marine electromagnetic geophysics within the ANR/French National Research Agency AQUIMER project. The research focuses on coastal aquifers and Offshore Freshwater Groundwater (OFG) systems, addressing questions linked to climate change, sea-level rise, and saltwater intrusion.
The postdoc will be based at BRGM in Orléans, with collaboration with Université de Bretagne Occidentale in Brest. The work includes acquiring, processing, and inverting land and marine EM data (CSEM, MT, ERT), jointly interpreting these data with seismic reflection datasets, linking geophysical imaging to hydrogeological models, and participating in a land-to-sea geophysical campaign.
Ideal candidates hold a PhD in Geophysics or Geosciences and have expertise in electromagnetic/electrical methods, numerical simulation and inversion software, and programming skills in Python, MATLAB, Fortran, or C/C++. The contract is for 20 months and starts in September 2026 (negotiable). Salary is €2,300 net per month.
Interested applicants should contact Simon Védrine, Francois Bretaudeau, Angélie Portal, and Pascal Tarits by email for more information.
